I'm sure it's not me

It would be super vain of me to think it’s me or anything I did.

But dude. Dude.

A few days back I wrote up a little, “Here’s what I expect,” post to the officers. It was pretty short. I mainly said, “Be the best examples. Follow the rules better than anyone. Remember that you’re here to serve the guild. Be active on the forums, I don’t like talking to myself.”

And, dude. Dude.

The other day, a guildie needed a talkin’ to for no-showing on a raid he was confirmed for. An officer volunteered. And then shared the outcome on the forums.

And just now, one of my least confrontational people said, “I’m the one looking at people’s gear every week. If I see someone doesn’t have an enchant that they should, I should be the one to tell them.” (Not that he’s going to be confrontational about it, but he is a background sorta person.)

And last night, I had a chat with one of my officers (I am trying to talk to all of them individually), and it was really, really good. She wants to be better at leading raids. She wants to grow into that role.

And another officer – one with a crazy schedule in his real life – is seriously stepping up his activity and feedback on the forums and asking good questions and making good points.

I’m all warm and fuzzy now. This is what I’ve always wanted to see.

That is awesome! It sounds like you have good officers who really do want to serve the guild and don’t just view officership as a “perk” for being there a long time.

Glad to hear it! Unfortunately, I haven’t been around much the last couple of weeks to see the effects in game, but it sounds like communication has been improving.

Now that you are all warm and fuzzy, I will be late for raid tonight, and I will throw a huge fit that I got replaced…
