I am excited to see that Blizzard has thought better of moving ahead with Real ID on the forums. For a while there, I thought that even despite the enormous backlash from the community that they weren’t going to be budged. I’m happy to be wrong in this case.
However, I am only cautiously optimistic about the future. Who knows what else they might propose that won’t seem so bad compared to this, but could still have a very negative impact on the community? We do need to stay wary about any future announcements they might make, because I do believe they will continue to push for greater socialization and Facebook-esque features.
Oh look. I’m posting about a Big Topic.

Yes, Constant Vigilance is our watchword but – temporarily, this is good news. Yay!
Gotta always watch for this, but we all made a difference. We have to remember that next time – whether it's regarding Blizzard or something else.
